Mardi Gravestone has received rave reviews, one from Shamus and Edgar award-winning author Jeremiah Healy. "Marvelous job...diverse and credible people...magical evocation of New Orleans...would nominate for Best First Mystery," Healy wrote. The storyline of Mardi Gravestone concerns a young journalist and her daughter, visiting New Orleans during Mardi Gras, who are drawn into a series of murders involving the first woman President. Author Sandy Semerad has been a journalist, newspaper reporter, broadcast news director, columnist and editor, similar to her protagonist, Lilah Sanderford. Before earning her degree in journalism from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Semerad modeled for Atlanta Models and Talent and volunteered for political campaigns--U.S. Senator Sam Nunn, President Jimmy Carter, Congressman Elliott Levitas. (Her ex-husband was Georgia’s Insurance Commissioner.) These days when Semerad isn't writing mysteries, she travels for a national publishing company for Chamber literature and is a makeup artist through Northwest Florida's Emerald Coast Film Commission and Convention and Visitors Bureau. She recently served on a panel for SleuthFest, a major mystery writing conference in Fort Lauderdale put on by Mystery Writers of America Florida Chapter and spoke at the Emerald Coast Writers Conference in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Mardi Gravestone is Semerad's first mystery novel. Her second mystery is set in Dolphin, Florida, a town like Destin, where she and husband Larry--a former New Orleans musician, live. Here's a brief synopsis of HURRICANE HOUSE: A hurricane hits a florida fishing village with a serial killer at large. Contact: Sandy
